Medical Records Coder, Mediclinic Middle East, Dubai

All in-patient medical records reviewed and incomplete records updated
Procedures and diagnoses coded on all discharged patient records as per Mediclinic guidelines
Birth notifications checked to ensure it is complete and accurate and details forward to medical transcriptionists for online entry
Death notifications checked to ensure complete and accurate, code assigned and entered into database within 7 days from date of death
Deceased patient medical records prepared and forwarded to DHA/MOH on or before the 10th of each month.

Requirements
Candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in HIM (Health Information Management) with any coding credential or certification
Minimum of 2 years experience in medical records and coding in a multi-speciality hospital
Proficiency in ICD, CPT coding, statistics, electronic medical record system
Excellent spoken and written English
Computer literacy at an intermediary level is a must

Key Outputs
Ensure all in-patient records are completed (qualitative & quantitive analysis) and encoded as per Mediclinic policy
Responsible for birth & death notifications encoding and liason with local health authority
Preparation and compilation of statistical & coding reports
Filing system maintained
Responsible for medical quality check of outpatient coding
Patient confidentiality maintained at high level
