The main purpose of this role to set the strategy that leads operational and technological advancement of the fleet and ensures operational excellence. The Operations Director will also be responsible for providing operational support for all Topaz Energy and Marine vessels and ensure the fleet is maintained and operated in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner.
Skills & Experience
Chief Engineer, Class I Certificate of Competency A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an operational role ashore out of which 5 years to be in a similar position Excellent knowledge of offshore support vessels and first hand service on AHTS / PSVs, DP Vessels Prior hands-on experience in a technical and operational role in the offshore sector Experience in subsea sector is an advantage A driven individual, committed to delivering results, with the ability to lead global teams in delivering key initiatives and targets Committed to quality in terms of operational health, safety, environment and quality standards Should demonstrate ability to lead and motivate the team, be involved in the business at a strategic level and drive positive changes Should maintain a broad-based, long-term perspective on the business and client requirements Should have the highest standards of professional and personal integrity
Accountabilities: Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Ensure best practice QHSE system, as well as compliance with all relevant QHSE management policies and procedures. Leadership Provide leadership and support to the operations team across the Group to enable them to provide a high level of service and meet Topaz’ targets. Structure Review and ensure adequacy and consistency of the operational structure within and across business units in Topaz. Operations Strategy Develop, communicate and ensure the implementation of the operations strategy including class, machinery & equipment, dry-docking, planned maintenance and technological advancement of the fleet in line with the Company’s strategic plan, thus stimulating continuous improvement of all operational activities throughout the Group.
Procurement Strategy Formulate the strategy for all Group purchases including local and international purchases and lead the development of framework agreements with suppliers.
Project Management Formulate accurate project plans for dry-docks, new builds and any major vessel conversions/acquisition to ensure the projects are delivered in a timely manner and aligned to the Company’s quality, safety and financial policies and requirements.
