A fantastic opportunity has become available to work in our Corporate Communications department as a Communications Manager working across several different verticals of our growing aviation group.
As a Communications Manager, you will manage, direct and conduct a wide range of communication projects for the assigned area of responsibility and/or geographic area, to ensure they are consistent with corporate strategy and key messages and delivered to relevant stakeholders on time and on budget.
You will be responsible for creating content for business/corporate department units, including: press releases, statements, speeches and presentations along with developing and implementing strategic communication frameworks across Etihad Airways.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background working within either a communications department of a major organization, a large global advertising agency or a background within Journalism.
Develop and implement strategic communication framework and plans for the business/corporate units to facilitate the achievement of Etihad Airway’s vision
Manage and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure proper dissemination of the corporate communication services of the organization and to fulfill the business/support department’s objectives
Project manage the business/corporate units events and media conferences within the timeframe and budget projected
Create all the necessary content for the business/corporate units department needs (press releases, statements, speeches, presentations, facts and figures sheet and other relevant materials)
Practice the guidelines and processes in place for all public relations/media activities
Analyze stakeholder research findings as part of developing a compelling strategy for the corporate communications department
Engage with the social media team on projects and events for parallel online and print activation plans
Take the lead in crises management relevant to the business/support department in a timely manner
Strategy – Implement the Function/Department strategy to ensure alignment with Etihadﾒs strategy
Policies and Procedures – Implement relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
Day-to-Day Operations – Manage the day-to-day operations by providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
People Development – Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures
Safety, Quality & Environment- Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Manage the communication team to ensure of communication initiatives are delivered on time and on budget
Plan, lead and monitor the development and execution of company events to ensure Etihadﾒs image is properly communicated and marketing standards are reflected
Develop, finalize and manage communications and contents for a wide range of channels to ensure Etihadﾒs messages are properly communicated to internal and external audience
Draft and develop strategic announcements, to ensure they reflect business requirements and are compliant with communications guidelines
Draft strategic announcements and CEO/Chief Officers- messages to ensure effectiveness and alignment to communications standards Plan, lead and monitor internal and external communication projects to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget and according to quality standards.
Assist in developing Etihadﾒs communication approach and annual plan to ensure the usage of effective communications channels according to corporate guideline and target audience
Support crisis management team by developing communications to protect Etihadﾒs reputation
Work with Social Media team in developing and improving the existing social media strategy to ensure effectiveness and adherence to Corporate communications strategy and key principles
Review analysis and reports to ensure they are accurate and complete
Prioritize initiatives to be proposed to senior management to ensure they are relevant for department improvement
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor Degree or a diploma (3 years)
Minimum of 5 years experience in relevant field, of which 2 years experience in in a managerial role in a leading communication department
Advertising agency or Journalism experience would be a huge advantage
