At present, our growing Technology and Innovation division has an incredibly exciting opportunity for a proven Master Data Management professional to lead the Master Data Management track within the information governance portfolio consisting of data governance and master data management.

• Establish, manage and execute the Master Data management operating model aligned with overall data governance processes and the underlying technology platform.
• Ensure enterprise master and reference data are identified and ‘Single Source of Truth’, data consistency & business value are delivered.
• Enable strong partnership with the key stakeholders in the business units and IT to embed Master Data Management practices in business processes, project delivery and business-as-usual operations.
Deliver Information Governance Framework: Develop and maintain enterprise master data domains in collaboration with business functions and IT. Drive the implementation of master data in business processes, Identify business processes using master data, identifying systems of use and clarity on usage of master data. Work with business stakeholders, relevant IT teams and program teams to institute a governance structure for Master Data Management. Define approaches for and following up on profiling and cleansing of master data. Work with major enterprise programs such as enterprise business intelligence and business transformation to establish data owners and data stewards in business units and govern the information through their participation
Strategy: Provide strategic, technical and planning inputs for information governance portfolio strategy & roadmap based on the key issues, risks and opportunities identified through the BAU operations.
Project Management: Manage and co-ordinate the delivery and on-going maintenance across the business of the key business definitions, business objects, key data processes, data ownership, stewardship of enterprise business data.
Change Management: Support change and release management functions for the information governance portfolio by liaising with IT operations, system owners, application stewards and key business stakeholders.
Reporting: Monitoring data quality of the master data and define actions to resolve quality issues. Create and maintain appropriate metrics to represent the contents and the MDM operations. Identify and elaborate on focus areas for improvement.
Supplier Management: Contributes to the compilation and review of RFI’s, RFP’s and business cases necessary to deliver the agreed Business unit IT plan.
Influencing: Plays an active role in improving the interface between the business and IT. Analyses master data processes and establish client requirements for the implementation of significant changes in organizational mission, business functions and process, organizational roles and responsibilities, and scope or nature of service delivery.
Evangelize and advocate: Manage stakeholders and provide expert knowledge to educate business users in Master Data Management and overall information governance discipline. Provide on-going management, control, and planning of the information governance portfolio by working closely with the portfolio lead to ensure compliance with applicable policies, processes and standards.
Experience, Qualification & Education:
Bachelors degree from a university
A minimum of 10 years total in Information technology is required.
A minimum of 6 years of Master Data Management work experience of which 2 years in SAP MDM/MDG tool for Master Data Management and data quality/profiling/cleansing tools is mandatory.
Hands on experience in one or more of the master data domain related to finance/procurement/HR/Commercial related business area.
Experience in managing a team of subject matter experts (SME) as well as administering and or supporting the application and associated systems, services and technology solutions.
Technical know-how in SAP MDM/MDG or IBM MDM and IBM Infosphere tool sets
Training & Knowledge:
Extensive experience on major MDM platforms from IBM/SAP/Oracle.
Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
Demonstrated experience of managing people, including those distributed across various locations.
Ability to communicate effectively with, and influence, all levels of staff, management and external service providers, both verbally and in writing, on a technical as well as non-technical level.
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Highly motivated self-starter able to work to deadlines and under limited supervision.
Strong written and oral communication skills (English).
Ability to understanding an organisation’s goals and objectives, and present technical information with reference to these.
