Supervisor – Motor Transport, Dubai Airports

The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the activities of designated technician and tradesman teams in an area during a shift, meeting quality, time and cost targets for those teams whilst maintaining productive and beneficial relationships with stakeholders.

The job holder will work on a shift basis and ensure the equipment is operated and maintained in line with the requirements and with minimal disruption to airport operations. The jobholder will follow up on day-to-day tasks in order to ensure smooth, safe and reliable operations.

Qualifications and Education:
The job holder will be educated to diploma or degree level or will have an equivalent professional qualification in an engineering related discipline. Five years of related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered in lieu of a formal qualification.

Experience:
The job holder will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of work in operation and maintenance in an appropriate technical discipline or 10 years of field experience in a shift supervisor/shift in charge capacity.

Training:
Certification/ training required in any area for professional on-going development or for mandatory purposes

Knowledge:
Knowledge of managing shift work.
Knowledge of diagnosis and rectification of problems and faults in specialist area.
Technical knowledge of plant and equipment in the relevant discipline.
Knowledge of local and international regulations and safety procedures.
Good oral and written communication in Arabic/English.
Computer skills i.e. MS office.
Valid UAE driving license.

The jobholder will be responsible for the supervision of all employees on the shift. He/she will work within defined policies and procedures and will have a certain level of independence in taking appropriate decisions to achieve defined objectives on the shift.
The jobholder will pass on any critical decisions to be made to their manager. Any errors made by the jobholder could potentially have a high impact on airport operations.

The job holder will be responsible for managing a budget of 2.0 Million AED
