Finance Officer – Etihad Airways – Uae

To prepare and reconciliation of VAT payable and recoverable of Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) and it’s subsidiaries, and provide specific and well defined finance support across UAE and GCC VAT compliance reporting and tax filing works as mandatory requirements of Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

Also to analyse and prepare reconciliations of VAT/GST payable or recoverable as per the general ledger accounts for rest of the world and coordinate with station CFC manager.

Day-to-Day Operations
Implement the day-to-day standard operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures. Refer to supervisor for complex tasks which may require exceptions to procedures
Safety, Quality & Environment
Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment


Analyse and prepare Etihad and its group company’s tax accounting reconciliation with different source of revenue and expenses data for tax filing on monthly/quarterly basis as per FTA requirements of UAE and GCC countries
Record transactions in the books of account to ensure compliance to the manual of authority, internal policies and accounting standards
Regular verification transactions accounted in Input and Output tax account by Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable/Revenue accounting team and advise accounting team for corrective action
Extract data, reconcile and prepare self-declared invoice for UAE and other GCC countries tax payment and ensure it’s paid on time by Accounts Payable team on monthly basis and avoid any penalties due to delay in payment
Coordinate periodical books closing to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures and accounting standards
Perform accounting activities to ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Prepare the month end reports for the management team to ensure key information are communicated on time and in a complete manner
Collect, consolidate and analyse financial data to ensure timely and accurate cost controls in compliance with accounting standards
Identify and communicate potential issues to ensure resolution in a timely and effective manner
Review and approve self-service work flows pertaining to weekly and monthly claims within the agreed SLA to ensure all supporting documents are received and validated prior to approve any transactions.
Provide comprehensive and timely responses to enquiries from employees, managers and/or other internal/external stakeholders and processes transactional requests, with aim to resolution in accordance with SLA
Prepare and generate monthly reports in an efficient and timely manner to ensure sharing with Departmental time administrators and line managers
Update time related data in the system to ensure availability of updated information


Degree in Accountancy with CA/CPA/ACCA qualification
Min 4 years’ experience in handling VAT/GST
Good working knowledge of SAP/Oracle ERP, with special emphasis on accounting
Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in VAT/GST accounting and reconciliations

Report Writing Skills – Proficient
